Are you ready to have an amazing adventure exploring and boating the pristine waters of Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve? This tour is completely customized to your liking! You can go beachcombing/shelling on powder white sand beaches on islands only accessible by boat. We can take you dolphin watching, birding and even stop to do some snorkeling too! Do you want to learn about the history of the area with a stop to Mound Key State Park, which has approximately a one mile trail through the island while you explore the island’s flora and fauna? The park is home to thousands of years of living history. You will experience a beautiful and scenic walk with some shade coverage while learning about the history of the Calusa Indians. Climbing to the top of the mounds will give you an astounding bird’s eye view of the tree line of the island and a possible encounter with the local wildlife, including the protected gopher tortoise or a variety of native and migratory birds.
During the three hour private tour you will see bottlenose dolphins, possibly the endangered manatee coming up for a breath next to the boat, the magnificent bright pink plumage of a roseate spoonbill, a great blue heron or the many osprey that make this preserve their home.
You can request a stop to a local restaurant on the water for a delicious fresh seafood lunch and drinks! There are so many fun places to boat to — just let us know what you want to do and we will make it a day to remember.
We can extend the tour for as long as you like for an extra $100/hr.
The boat tour will be lead by local Florida Master Naturalist, USCG Captain Jason Fullerton. Jason is a Florida Native and grew up exploring, shelling and fishing this special aquatic preserve here in Ft. Myers Beach/Bonita Springs. His passion is education and looks forward to sharing his vast amount of knowledge during your time with him. Come let us show you the wild side of Florida and make memories to last a lifetime.
