Please feel free to call or email Captain Jeff or Captain Tammy at any time. Most days we will be out giving tours and won’t be available to answer calls so please leave a message. All calls will be returned by the next day.
Have you ever wanted to set off on an adventure where you can escape the pressures of daily life and get lost exploring uninhabited islands with the sounds of Ospreys chirping above you, sunshine on your face, waves coming to gently kiss your toes and miles of beaches to seek for treasures the ocean has given up for you? Come and spend the day with Treasure Seekers Shell Tours shelling in the Ten Thousand Islands Wildlife Refuge. which is located south of Marco Island, FL. These islands are only accessible by boat which makes your shelling experience out of this world! Many times you will be the only ones on these barrier islands which don’t receive the shelling pressure that many other famed shelling islands such as Sanibel, Captiva or Marco Island. During your tour with us you’ll have the chance to learn about the region’s marine life and see the ecosystem of mangroves, plus lets face it…the reason your here is to experience EPIC shelling days and that is what we intend to give you.
We will try to optimize your trip by only booking tours based on the best tides available during your stay here in SW Florida. These pristine islands are so special and to keep them that way we practice “Leave Only Your Footprints” ecotourism, so for this reason we do NOT allow smoking on our tours. We also ask that anything you bring with you will be brought back to the boat as well so we may dispose of it properly.
You will have an opportunity on our tour to find prized shells such as Rose Petal Tellins, True Tulips, Banded Tulips, Apple and Laced Murex, Alphabet Cones, Flat Scallops, Cockles, Wendletraps, Turbans, Nutmegs, Lightning Whelks, Florida Horse Conchs, Florida Cones, Jasper Cones, Semeles, Florida Fighting Conchs, Broad Ribbed Carditas, Kings Crowns, Lettered Olives (Golden too) and the famed Junonia!
The approximate 25 minute boat ride from the marina out to the barrier islands south of Marco Island is a wonderful time to see dolphins jumping in the wake of the boat or at low tides experience wading birds on mud flats such as the Snowy Egret, Great Blue Heron, White Ibis or on a truly wonderful day we will witness the spectacular pink plumage of a Roseate Spoonbill! During certain times of the year we may even see a manatee which is always a special treat!
15 Minutes Before Event Time. The boat will leave at the departure time with no exceptions! If you fail to arrive on time you will not be refunded the cost of the tour.
During your tour with Treasure Seekers you can expect to be treated to a unique outdoor experience in a ecosystem many never have the opportunity to witness. You not only will have the time of your lives finding magnifient shells, but we also hope you come away from the day feeling like you have made new friends. Our prayer for our guests is that you will be able to cast all your cares away, relax and see nature in a whole new light. Get on ISLAND TIME and smile! We want this to be the highlight of your vacation and a memory you can share forever. Like you, we can see the Lord’s divine handiwork everywhere around us. His creations are breathtaking! Some of the most spectacular of those creations are SEASHELLS. I’m sure you’ve all looked in awe and wonder at the intricacies of seashells just as we have. Their variety in shape, design, texture, pattern, and color is remarkable! It is little wonder that, through the ages, shells have been so valuable that they have been found buried alongside royalty in ancient tombs around the world. At times they’ve been used as currency, prized enough to quantify great wealth or be bartered for life’s necessities. You can expect a SHELLTASTIC day and make sure to bring plenty of shellbags/buckets because you will need them!
If you’re looking for a great place to find shells, the Treasure Seekers Shell Tour is the VERY BEST! I couldn’t believe how many shells I found! I could hardly carry my shell bag! I found muraxes, tulips, shark eyes, whelks galore, sand dollars, a sea urchin and even a starfish! Our guides, Richard and Allie were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction and identifying shells! I will definitely be doing this again!
This is by far the best shell tour group! We love their knowledge of the area and local wildlife. We love them so much we have been out 10+ trips with them in last 2 years. The best part is the care of their guests. They check on you all throughout the tour making sure you stay hydrated and if you need or want anything. They will stay with you as you shell or let you explore on your own. It’s all about you!
My best friend, Heather, and I planned this trip for over a year, and we were not disappointed! Captain Tammy and Guide Jamie were both absolutely fabulous! I have never seen more shells in my entire life, witnessed actual sea turtle nesting tracks, and felt catered to in every way! The comfort level was off the charts, and I can only give this tour a perfect rating. They both blessed my best friend me beyond measure! Thank you, Treasure Seekers Shell Tour!
Captain Richard and 1st mate Tracy were absolutely amazing. It was the perfect trip for our family of 6 with an 11 month old, 2 3 year Olds and a 15 year old. The trip was perfect for us all and we all had a great time. The 3 year old twins called 1st mate Tracy their Grandma and were totally attached to her as they went shelling, crab hole hunting and sand castle making. We were all excited to enjoy the nature of our beautiful state of Florida as we were educated on the history and wildlife by Captain Richard yet the kids felt fully at ease. It felt like we were on a boat trip with close family friends and was totally what we were looking for. It was relaxing and accommodating to the kids as we saw the dolphins, birds, fishes and manitee.
Thanks to a fabulous time and will definitely request Captain Richard and 1st mate Tracy again. The kids talked about Grandma Tracy all the way home. Lasting memories and great family fun.
Captain Parker and First Mate Lilly were fantastic! TONS of shells! And I mean TONS! Islands full! We found every color, shape and variety and then some!!! And if you want to just troll around for wildlife … they will do! We saw dolphins, searays, exotic birds… this tour is a MUST!!!!! Four kids were entertained and loved… enough said!!!
